Insulation Before & After in Orange County, CA

Photos tell the truth faster than any promise we could make. Below are real scenarios from attics across Orange County, not staged shots. You’ll see what we found when we lifted the hatch, what we did about it, and what changed for the homeowner. Every job here came with a written price before we started, a committed arrival window, and our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. That part never shows up in a photo, but it’s there on every single one.

Blown-In Fiberglass Over a Master Bedroom in Irvine

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Before: patchy, compressed fiberglass. After: fresh blown-in coverage at full depth.

The homeowner couldn’t figure out why the master bedroom ran seven degrees warmer than the rest of the house every afternoon. When we got into the attic, the answer was obvious: the original fiberglass had settled to about three inches in spots, and one corner over the bedroom had almost nothing left. We air-sealed the visible gaps around the can lights, then blew Owens Corning fiberglass to a consistent R-38 across the entire attic floor. The bedroom stopped spiking by the next weekend.

Spray Foam in a Vaulted Ceiling in Anaheim Hills

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Before: bare roof deck with visible gaps. After: Icynene spray foam sealing the entire cavity.

Vaulted ceilings look beautiful and behave terribly when they’re under-insulated. This Anaheim Hills home had fiberglass batts stuffed into a curved roof deck, which left gaps at every rafter and let conditioned air pour straight out. We removed the old batts and applied Icynene spray foam insulation, a two-part liquid that expands on contact and seals gaps airtight. The homeowner told us the room finally held a temperature for the first time in the six years they’d lived there.

Attic Floor Re-Insulation After a Rodent Problem in Tustin

BeforeBeforeAfterAfter
Before: soiled, trampled insulation. After: clean blown-in GreenFiber coverage.

By the time the pest control company finished, the attic insulation was ruined. Tunnels, droppings, and compressed trails ran through the entire fiberglass layer. We vacuumed everything out, sanitized the attic floor, and blew in fresh GreenFiber cellulose to R-38. The difference in the photo doesn’t even capture the smell improvement, which the homeowner said was the best part of the whole job.

Crawlspace-to-Attic Air Sealing in Huntington Beach

Professional installing blown-in attic insulation for home energy efficiency
Before: visible gaps around wiring and top plates. After: foam-sealed penetrations before new insulation.

Huntington Beach is close enough to the coast that humidity creeps into attics through the smallest openings. This attic had dozens of unsealed penetrations: wiring, plumbing vents, recessed light housings. The homeowner’s AC ran almost constantly in August. We sealed every penetration we could reach, then added blown-in Rockwool to R-38. The result was quieter than a photo can show. The AC started cycling normally instead of running in long, desperate stretches.

Attic Hatch and Access Panel Upgrade in Mission Viejo

Worker installing and cutting pink fiberglass batt insulation in an attic
Before: uninsulated plywood hatch. After: insulated, weatherstripped access panel.

The hatch is the most overlooked leak in any attic. This Mission Viejo homeowner had a plywood panel sitting over the access opening with no insulation and no seal, effectively leaving a two-foot hole in their ceiling assembly. We built the hatch up with rigid foam board, added weatherstripping around the frame, and attached a simple pull-down mechanism. It took an afternoon. The hallway below the hatch stopped feeling five degrees hotter than the rest of the upstairs.

Garage Ceiling Insulation Under a Bonus Room in Yorba Linda

Professional cutting pink fiberglass attic insulation with a utility knife.
Before: uninsulated garage ceiling. After: Johns Manville batt insulation in the joist cavities.

Bonus rooms over garages have a built-in problem: the garage below is unconditioned, so the floor of the bonus room sits over a temperature swing all day and all night. In Yorba Linda, where summer garage temps hit triple digits, that bonus room was barely usable by noon. We installed Johns Manville kraft-faced batts in the garage ceiling joists and taped the seams. The bonus room became a normal room again, and the garage stayed noticeably cooler too.
